What we repair
Every Viking in the kitchen — and the one on the patio
We specialize in Viking appliances. Choose your appliance for the common failures, how the repair goes and what it usually costs.
Diagnose it first
What’s wrong with your Viking?
Most Viking service calls trace back to a short list of parts. Here are the usual causes behind six of the most common complaints, with a guide for each.
If you see a code on the display, look it up in our Viking error code guide. Before you call, note your model and serial number — it tells the technician which parts to bring.
Leave the house without touching light switches or appliances, call 911 from outside, then call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 (in Palo Alto, City of Palo Alto Utilities: (650) 329-2579). Call us once the utility has made it safe.
| Symptom | Usually |
|---|---|
| Burner clicks but won’t light | Moisture or a cracked igniter, clogged burner ports, a failing spark module |
| Oven won’t heat or runs cold | Bake igniter on gas ovens, element on electric, temperature sensor |
| Fridge warm, freezer still cold | Evaporator fan, a defrost fault icing the coil, blocked airflow |
| No ice | Water inlet valve, frozen fill tube, ice maker module |
| Dishwasher holds water | Clogged filter or drain path, drain pump |
| Grill won’t light or runs weak | Igniter, spider-webbed venturi tubes, regulator |
How a visit works
From the first call to a working appliance
- Call or book onlineTell us the appliance, the model number if you have it, and what it is doing. We give you an arrival window.
- Diagnosis in your kitchenThe technician tests the actual fault — igniter draw, gas flow, sensor resistance, fan and defrost operation. The $89 service call covers this.
- A clear priceYou get the repair price before any work. Approve it and the $89 is waived; decline and you only pay the visit.
- Repair with OEM partsCommon parts are often fixed the same visit; anything ordered is installed on a return trip as soon as it arrives.
- 365-day labor warrantyIf the same repair fails within a year due to our workmanship, we come back and make it right.

Why a Viking specialist
Viking, specifically
Viking’s professional ranges, dual-fuel ovens, built-in refrigeration and outdoor grills are built differently from mainstream appliances: high-output sealed burners with automatic re-ignition, convection systems with their own fans and elements, top-mounted condensers on built-ins, and stainless grills that spend the year outdoors.
Specializing in Viking means the common failures, the test sequences and the parts that wear out are well known. It also means honest advice: when a 20-year-old built-in needs a compressor, we will show you the numbers next to the cost of a replacement.
We are an independent company, not a factory service center. Once your Viking is out of warranty, you are free to choose who repairs it — and a Viking specialist is a good choice.

What Bay Area customers say
Called for a Viking range that wouldn’t heat. They were here the same day, wore boot covers, and fixed it in under an hour. Felt like concierge appliance service.
They knew more about my Viking fridge than the guy who sold it to me. Super professional. Worth every penny.
My Viking range quit mid-dinner party. These pros came fast and fixed it before dessert. Heroes in aprons.
Viking repair questions, answered
How much does a Viking repair visit cost?
The service call is $89. It covers the trip and the diagnosis, and it is waived if you approve the repair. Most single-part Viking repairs land between about $220 and $720 including the part; sealed-system refrigerator work and control boards cost more. See Viking repair costs for a full table.
Are you an authorized Viking service center?
No. We are an independent repair company and we say so on every page. Out-of-warranty owners can choose any qualified technician. If your Viking is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, contact Viking first. Read authorized vs independent Viking service for details.
Do you use genuine Viking parts?
Yes. We install genuine Viking (OEM) replacement parts matched to your model and serial number. If a part is back-ordered or discontinued, we tell you before any work begins.
How soon can a technician come out?
Same-day or next-day appointments are often available, depending on your area and the day’s schedule. Calling (650) 800-5431 is the quickest way to get the earliest slot.
What warranty do repairs carry?
Every repair carries a 365-day warranty on labor. Parts are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty.
Which parts of the Bay Area do you cover?
San Francisco, the Peninsula from Daly City to Palo Alto, San Jose and the South Bay, Oakland and the East Bay, Lamorinda and the Tri-Valley, and Marin. The service areas page lists the cities.
Is my old Viking worth repairing?
Usually, if the cabinet, burners and sealed system are sound. Pro-style ranges and built-in refrigerators cost far more to replace than most repairs, and replacing a built-in can mean cabinetry work. We give you the repair price first so you can decide; our cost guide covers the repair-or-replace math.
Where do I find my Viking model number?
On most Viking ranges it is under the control panel — open the oven door and look up. Wall ovens have it at the top left of the door opening, built-in refrigerators on the upper interior wall behind the light, and dishwashers on the left side of the tub. Our model number lookup guide shows every location and how to read the build date in the serial number.
