Viking ranges
Viking range & stove repair
Gas, dual-fuel, electric and induction Viking ranges — 3, 5 and 7 Series, Tuscany and older Professional models, 30-inch to 60-inch and wider, with burners, griddles and char-grills on top and one or two ovens below. We repair them in your kitchen, from the first click of the igniter to the last hinge on the oven door.
- All widths and fuel types
- Genuine Viking parts
- 365-day labor warranty
Short answer
Most Viking range repairs fall into four groups: surface burners that click, won’t light or burn unevenly; ovens that won’t heat or miss their temperature; doors and hinges that no longer close tight; and controls — knobs, switches, displays and boards. A single igniter, sensor or hinge is the typical fix. Call (650) 800-5431; the $89 service call is waived when you approve the repair.

| Symptom | Usual cause | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| Burner clicks but won’t light | Wet or worn igniter, clogged ports, misplaced cap | Burner clicking |
| Clicking that won’t stop, knobs off | Moisture in a burner switch, spark module | Burner clicking |
| Oven won’t heat or heats slowly | Bake igniter (gas), element or sensor (dual-fuel) | Oven not heating |
| Oven temperature wrong | Temperature sensor, calibration, control | Oven repair |
| Oven door won’t close or seal | Worn hinges or springs, door gasket | Hinge and gasket replacement (below) |
| Griddle or char-grill not heating | Igniter, thermostat, burner valve | Rangetop & griddle repair |
| Code or flashing display | Sensor, door lock or control fault | Viking error codes |
| Smell of gas | Leaking connection or valve — stop using it | What to do if you smell gas |
Gas, dual-fuel or induction: why it matters for the repair
The first question we ask is which kind of Viking range you have, because the oven works completely differently in each.
All-gas ranges
Gas burners on top, gas oven below. Most are lit by a hot-surface igniter that also controls the gas valve (some older self-clean models use spark ignition), so a weak igniter is the classic “oven won’t heat” repair. Broiling is done by a separate broil burner at the top of the oven.
Dual-fuel ranges
Gas burners on top, electric oven below — the oven uses bake, broil and convection elements, a temperature sensor and an electronic control. Most oven faults here are an element, the sensor or the door-lock system used for self-clean.
Induction ranges
An induction cooktop with an electric oven. Cooktop faults are electronic — power boards, cooling fans, sensors — and some show as codes on the display. Induction needs magnetic cookware; a pan that is not detected is not always a fault. See cooktop repair.
The parts we replace most on Viking ranges
- Surface burner ignitersCracked or worn igniters cause slow or no ignition. $220–$380 per burner.
- Burner switches and spark moduleClicking with the knobs off is usually a switch ($260–$450); no spark anywhere, the module ($450–$1,300).
- Oven bake and broil ignitersGas ovens that heat slowly or not at all. $300–$520.
- Oven sensors and elementsDual-fuel ovens that won’t hold temperature. Sensor $240–$420; element $280–$480.
- Door hinges and gasketsViking oven doors are heavy; worn hinges let them sag or spring open, and a tired gasket leaks heat.
- Convection fan motorsNoisy or dead convection. $350–$600.

How a range repair visit goes
- Tell us the model and the symptomOn most Viking ranges the rating tag is under the control panel — open the oven door and look up. Open-burner models have it on the burner box side wall, Tuscany ranges inside the storage drawer. See the model number guide.
- On-site diagnosisWe test the burner, oven and control circuits rather than guessing, and show you what failed.
- Price before workYou approve the repair price first. The $89 service call is waived when you go ahead.
- Repair and testWe fit genuine Viking parts, test every burner and the oven, re-engage the anti-tip bracket if the range was moved, and clean up.
Questions Viking owners ask us
Do you repair Viking stoves and ranges of every size?
Yes — 30, 36, 48 and 60-inch Viking ranges and the 66-inch Tuscany; sealed-burner and open-burner gas, dual-fuel, electric and induction; with or without a griddle or char-grill.
Is my old Viking range worth fixing?
Usually. The heavy body, burners and oven cavity often outlast the parts that wear, and the parts that wear — igniters, valves, sensors, hinges, gaskets — are replaceable. We price the repair first so you can compare with a new range plus installation.
How long does a Viking range repair take?
Most igniter, sensor, hinge and element repairs are done in one visit of one to two hours when the part is on hand. Control boards and less common parts may need ordering.
What does a Viking stove repair cost?
Common single-part repairs run roughly $220–$720 including parts and labor; control boards ($550–$1,100) and re-ignition spark modules ($450–$1,300) cost more. The $89 service call is waived when you approve the repair. See all prices.
Do you repair Viking rangetops and cooktops too?
Yes — see Viking cooktop and rangetop repair.
