Hills homes, rebuilt kitchens
The October 1991 Oakland Hills firestorm destroyed 2,843 single-family homes in Hiller Highlands, Montclair’s Forest Park, upper Rockridge and the south Berkeley hills. Many of those homes were rebuilt in the 1990s, and the kitchen appliances installed then are now around 30 years old — the age when igniters, valves, door gaskets and refrigeration fans need attention.
Lower down, Rockridge, Claremont and Elmwood have older Brown Shingle and Craftsman houses where a Viking went in during a later remodel, often into a compact kitchen. Piedmont, a city surrounded entirely by Oakland and zoned almost entirely for single-family homes, has many large 1920s houses with expanded kitchens.

Questions Viking owners ask us
Do you repair Viking stoves in Oakland?
Yes — Viking ranges, rangetops and cooktops, along with wall ovens and built-in refrigerators.
Do you cover Berkeley and Alameda?
Yes, all of Berkeley and the island city of Alameda, plus Piedmont, San Leandro and Fremont.
Is a 30-year-old Viking range worth repairing?
Often it is. The body, cavity and burners of an older Viking last a long time, and the parts that wear — igniters, valves, sensors — are replaceable. We give you the price first so you can decide. See repair or replace.
Do you serve Walnut Creek and Lamorinda too?
Yes — see our Walnut Creek, Lamorinda and Tri-Valley page.
